Morning report equity:
US stocks closed lower on Monday after starting the
day at record highs, weighed down by the tech and
industrial sectors. Asian shares held within striking
distance of recent decade highs on Tuesday even as
Wall Street fell from record levels. The Nifty futures
on the Singaporean stock exchange were trading
lower by around 14 points at 10186, a fall of around
0.14 percent.

Major news
Equity benchmarks closed a volatile session on a positive note Monday, backed
by Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Infosys and telecom stocks; but
HDFC and ITC capped gains. Global cues also supported the market. Investors
looked at another batch of earnings.
Reliance Industries ended a record closing high, up 3.3 percent post tariff hikes by Jio on October 18. The stock was near to Rs 6 lakh crore market cap. It hit Rs 5.98 lakh crore in market cap in today's trade.
Bharti Airtel was up 5 percent, hitting a fresh 8-year high on hopes of likely stabilisation in pricing war after Reliance Jio hiked tariff rates. Idea Cellular also gained 7.6 percent.
UlraTech Cement was up 4 percent as a majority of brokerage houses remained bullish after Q2 earnings. Grasim, which holds a major stake in UltraTech, was also up 4 percent.
Infosys gained 1.35 percent ahead of earnings on Tuesday. ICICI Bank gained 1.8 percent and HDFC Bank was up 0.8 percent ahead of Q2 earnings later in the week
