Morning report equity:
The Nifty 50 futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange
were trading 20.50 points lower at 10257.50 indicating a
negative opening for the domestic market.As many as 23
companies are scheduled to report their results for Q2 on
Tuesday from the likes of Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto, ACC, Wipro, Tata Sponge, Atul and Blue Dart.After soaring
about 34 percent higher in the opening tick, market
debutant Godrej Agrovet ended lower than its listing price, but around 29 percent higher than the issue price at Rs 592.

Major news
All three major US stock index rose to record closing highs on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average less than 50 points below 23,000, ahead of a long list of earnings this week. The Dow Jones Industrial
Average rose 83.24 points, or 0.37 percent, to close at 22,956.96, the
S&P 500 gained 4.47 points, or 0.18 percent, to 2,557.64 and the Nasdaq
Composite added 18.20 points, or 0.28 percent, to 6,624.01.
The bulls charged on D-Street from the word go on the first day of Diwali week. The Nifty made a bullish candle for the third consecutive day in a row on Monday. The Nifty made a new record high as it broke out of trading range with buying across segments. The Nifty managed to close above 10200 mark after two and a half months.
SEBI constituted a committee on Monday to review the norms for market
infrastructure institutions such as stock exchanges, depositories and clearing
corporations. The committee will be headed by former Reserve Bank of India
deputy governor R. Gandhi.
Tata Steel ruled out on Monday a flotation in the next two to three years of the planned merger of its European steel operations with those of Thyssen Krupp.
